What is Open Doors?

We're a community arts programme bringing free creative activities to Newark and Sherwood.

Our diverse programme covers everything from arts and crafts to music, heritage, theatre, dance, creative writing, and more.

Since our launch in 2023, our projects have encouraged people of all ages and abilities to get creative, make friends, and learn something new.

Funded by Arts Council England and delivered by Newark and Sherwood District Council, our team are based at the National Civil War Centre and the Palace Theatre, Newark.

Along with our on-site events and exhibitions, you’ll find our team running activities in libraries, schools, parks, and other venues across the district.
